someone said “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. i don?t know who wrote these words, but i?ve always liked them as a reminder that the future can be anything we want it to be. we are all in the position of the farmers. if we plant a good seed ,we reap a good harvest. if we plant nothing at all, we harvest nothing at all.

we are young. “how to spend the youth?” it is a meaningful question. to answer it, first i have to ask “what do you understand by the word youth?” youth is not a time of life, it?s a state of mind. it?s not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips or supple knees. it?s the matter of the will. it?s the freshness of the deep spring of life.

youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite , for adventure over the love of ease. this often exists in a man of 60 more than a boy of 20 . nobody grows old merely by a number of years . we grow old by deserting our ideals. years wrinkle the skin , but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul . worry , fear , self –distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust .

whether 60 of 16 , there is in every human being ?s heart the lure of wonders, the unfailing childlike appetite of what?s next and the joy of the game of living . in the center of your heart and my heart there?s a wireless station : so long as it receives messages of beauty , hope ,cheer, courage and power from men and from the infinite, so long as you are young .

apoet said “to see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold infinity in the palm of your hand, and eternity in an hour. several days ago, i had a chance to listen to a lecture. i learnt a lot there. i?d like to share it with all of you. let?s show our right palms. we can see three lines that show how our love.career and life is. i have a short line of life. what about yours? i wondered whether we could see our future in this way. well, let?s make a fist. where is our future? where is our love, career, and life? tell me.yeah, it is in our hands. it is held in ourselves.

we all want the future to be better than the past. but the future can go better itself. don?t cry because it is over, smile because it happened. from the past, we?ve learnt that the life is tough, but we are tougher. we?ve learnt that we can?t choose how we feel, but we can choose what about it. failure doesn?t mean you don?t have it, it does mean you should do it in a different way. failure doesn?t mean you should give up, it does mean you must try harder.

as what i said at the beginning, “we are reading the first verse of the first chapter of a book, whose pages are infinite”. the past has gone. nothing we do will change it. but the future is in front of us. believe that what we give to the world, the world will give to us. and from today on, let?s be the owners of ourselves, and speak out “we are the world, we are the future.”

比如有的同学吃了东西，随手就把包装纸扔在地上，而有的同学却随手把它捡起来，放到垃圾箱里。有的同学胡乱地在洁白的墙壁上洒上个墨迹，而多数同学一到校就主动擦楼道或打扫包干区；有的同学课上听不懂就想说话，而多数同学是遇到不明白的问题，就冥思苦想，绝不交头接耳，唯恐影响了其他同学的学习。极个别同学影响了他人，还横眉冷对，没事找事，而我们绝大多数同学影响了他人都能礼貌地说声“对不起”。很显然，以上所述之中，前者属于不文明的，后者就是很文明的。

同学们，听了今天的国旗下讲话，你是否知道如何对待手中的一张废纸、学校洁白的一面墙壁、嘴里的一口痰、教室内的桌椅公物，如何面对每一节课、一次日常的作业、一次普通的考试？无论你们将来从事什么样的工作，你们都会面临各种各样的挑战，而一个人只有学会做人，学会善待这些小事，才算具备了成功的基础。

想象一下，如果每个人都随手丢下一些垃圾，那么所有中国人都这样做，会是什么景象呢?在一个原本美丽的景区中，留下这么多垃圾，人们都会躲得远远的。景区周围的住宅区，也会受到影响，谁会愿意住到这样的区域来呢?再想象一下，如果这样脏、乱、差的区域再多几个，恐怕整个地球环境都会破烂不堪，臭气熏天。

人类破坏景区、破坏自然，就是在破坏自己的生命之源，生存之本。如果再这样下去，终有一日，所有美丽的景区都会不复存在了!但是，如果人们每天都捡起一两个垃圾，那么所有中国人都这样做，又会是怎样的场景呢?那地球将会多么美好啊!

在此，我呼吁大家行动起来，为了我们美丽的家园，为了我们所向往的大自然，为了我们唯一的地球，请保护环境，不乱扔垃圾，体现出我们人类的文明举止!

保护环境，人人有责，虽然我们此刻还只是个学生，没有潜力去改变那些环境不问题，但是我们能够从小事做起。春天到了，植物开始生长，我们能够专心参与植树节，保护身边的花草树木。除此之外，我们还要爱护身边的环境卫生，遵守有关禁止乱扔各种废弃物的规定，把废弃物扔到指定的地点或容器中，避开使用一次性的饮料杯饭盒塑料袋，用纸盒等代替，这样能够大大减少垃圾，减轻垃圾处理工作的压力。这一切，看起来不是很平庸的事情吗?只要我们愿意，很简单就能完成，很简单就能参与到保护环境的重大工作当中。
