新年可以收压岁钱、穿新衣服、放鞭炮，但最有趣的是看舞狮子表演。我至今还记得去年广州之行的情景。那天万里无云，街上人多得拥挤不堪，十分热闹，大家都满面红光，喜气洋洋。忽然，响起了鞭炮声，我循着有声音的地方走去，发现原来是舞狮子的队伍在赛狮呢！那头狮子做得十分逼真，张着血盆大口，眼睛还一眨一眨地，特别有神采，大家更是赞不绝口。舞狮子的人很有默契，“狮子”有时摇摇头，有时跳来跳去。

这时，有几个人搬来了云梯，大家更加兴奋了，“狮子”开始走云梯了，边走边晃脑，人们拍手叫好，“狮子”到顶了，竹杆上挂着生菜，狮子一下子就扑向了生菜。我十分奇怪，问：“妈妈，狮子为什么要抢生菜？”妈妈耐心的告诉我：“那是利用谐音，把生菜说成‘生财’。人人都希望能生财呀！”原来是这样，我顿时明白了。啊！中国传统文化真是千姿百态，太有意思了！

他们带来的不光只有舞狮子，还有打腰鼓的和旱船。不过，我最喜欢的就是舞狮子了。只见一头威武的大狮子围着一张方桌不停的跳动着，那头狮子做得十分逼真，张着血盆大口，眼睛一眨一眨地好有神采。它晃着脑袋，在方桌上一会儿直立，一会儿倒立，好象一点都不怕摔下来，真惊险呀。舞着舞着只见那头狮子显出时分激动的样子，我看见舞狮子的叔叔拿来一根竹杆，竹杆上挂着生菜，狮子看见了一下子就跳得很高抓住了生菜，我觉得十分好奇，就问妈妈：“妈妈，狮子为什么要抢生菜？”妈妈告诉我：“那是利用谐音，把生菜说成“生财”。对啊，人人都希望能生财嘛！我顿时明白了！舞狮子真是好玩极了！

先是一阵喜庆的音乐，便是一龙首映入眼帘：龙须蜿舞，龙目睁圆，龙嘴大开，龙角尖锐。龙爪舞于空中，龙鳞在阳光折射下熠熠生辉，一条龙尾腾于半空。龙后一门。门后一鱼。鱼尾高翘，鱼身欲扑，正应鲤鱼跳龙门之吉祥之意。

一阵翻滚，又一阵翻滚，十几只雄狮或翻腾而来，或踩着鼓点而来，或微晃狮首而来。一身狮子皮，而在表演者眼中宛若一身锦绣时裳，忽而跃起，忽而跃下，轻松自如，狮皮上的装饰如树上的叶子一样哗啦啦的响动，哗哗作响。两人一狮，或进或退，或跃起或扑下，或转身或挪步，步调一致，宛如天合。那狮皮于舞狮者浑然一体，狮皮随人舞动，起落得当，有板有眼。装点如海波澜起伏，蔚为大观。继而，群狮皆人立而起，在地上转圈，忽而二狮相撞，跃起相斗。不久，一张窄桌呈上，群狮轮流上前，刚好定下，稍不慎，必定摔下，让人悬心。甚至两狮滚一绣球，狮上一人，更有甚者，三狮滚一绣球，可谓天衣无缝。
